DevOps Engineer / IT Infrastructure

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure, cloud engineering, or DevOps roles
• Strong working knowledge of at least one major cloud provider — AWS or Azure (certifications advantageous)
• Hands-on experience with Terraform and/or Ansible for infrastructure-as-code and configuration management
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix system administration (RHEL or SLES preferred)
• Production experience with Kubernetes and Docker
• Scripting ability in Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• Sound understanding of networking fundamentals — DNS, load balancing, VPNs, and firewalls
• Exposure to Zero Trust security architecture and security-by-design principles is advantageous
• Relevant cloud or DevOps certifications (AWS, Azure, CKA) are a strong advantage
• South African citizen or permanent resident with valid right to work in South Africa

Key Responsibilities

• Design, provision, and manage infrastructure across AWS, Azure, or hybrid cloud environments
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation
• Build, optimise, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support software delivery velocity
• Manage containerised workloads and orchestration using Kubernetes and Docker
• Monitor system health, availability, and performance using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK Stack
• Automate repetitive operational and provisioning tasks to reduce manual effort and human error
• Implement and maintain security controls including identity management, secrets management, and network security
• Lead incident response activities, perform root cause analyses, and implement preventative remediation
• Collaborate with development teams to embed DevOps best practices across the delivery lifecycle
• Maintain infrastructure documentation, architecture diagrams, runbooks, and operational procedures

Infrastructure and DevOps Engineers in these roles will operate within large-scale enterprise environments, managing cloud workloads, automating operational processes, and ensuring the continuous availability and security of critical systems. Roles span infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, site reliability engineering (SRE), and cloud operations
