We are seeking experienced SAP Basis Administrator. As organisations accelerate their S/4HANA migrations and cloud adoption -  all levels — from operational support through to architecture and migration

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of SAP Basis administration experience in a professional environment
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP NetWeaver and S/4HANA system administration
  • SAP HANA database administration experience is required for senior-level roles
  • Solid understanding of SAP security concepts, authorisation management, and role design
  • Experience with SAP cloud offerings (SAP BTP, RISE with SAP) is highly advantageous
  • Linux (SLES / RHEL) and Windows Server operating system experience
  • SAP Basis or HANA certification is advantageous
  • Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions during production incidents
  • South African citizen or permanent resident with valid right to work in South Africa

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain SAP systems including S/4HANA, ECC, BW, and Solution Manager
  • Manage the SAP transport landscape and system change management processes via TMS
  • Perform proactive system monitoring, performance analysis, and capacity planning
  • Administer SAP user accounts, roles, authorisations, and security profiles
  • Plan and execute SAP system upgrades, support package stacks, and kernel patching
  • Manage SAP HANA, Oracle, or SQL Server database administration tasks
  • Support SAP deployments on cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or SAP BTP
  • Execute and maintain system refresh, backup, and disaster recovery procedures
  • Coordinate with functional and development teams on landscape-related changes and transports
  • Maintain technical documentation and operate within ITIL-aligned change management frameworks

SAP Basis Administrators in these roles will provide the technical foundation for complex SAP landscapes, ensuring system stability, availability, security, and performance. You will work closely with functional consultants, developers, and infrastructure teams to support both day-to-day operations and strategic SAP initiatives.
