Key Responsibilities:
Perform physical exams to gather patient health information.
Make preliminary diagnoses and recommend treatment plans.
Prescribe treatments and medications, subject to physician approval.
Order and conduct diagnostic tests, including x-rays, electrocardiograms, and lab work.
Analyze diagnostic results to detect health deviations.
Document patient medical data, including histories, progress notes, and physical exam findings.
Educate and counsel patients on treatment, family planning, emotional health, and wellness.
Assist physicians during surgeries and complex procedures.
Administer therapeutic interventions like injections, wound care, immunizations, suturing, and infection management.
Supervise medical technicians and assistants, coordinating their activities.
Manage medical supplies and equipment ordering.
Work Activities:
Diagnose medical conditions and provide appropriate treatment plans.
Conduct patient exams to assess overall health.
Prescribe therapies and medications as necessary.
Document patient histories and maintain accurate medical records.
Analyze diagnostic data to inform treatment decisions.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests and results.
Offer health advice and counseling to patients and caregivers.
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
Assist in surgical procedures and administer IV medications.
Ensure immunizations are up to date and proper infection control is followed.
Supervise healthcare staff and manage medical supplies.
Qualifications:
2-5 years of experience in Primary Care and Pediatrics (preferred).
Current Michigan NP licensure (required).
Masters degree in a related field.
