Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Corporate Controller to oversee the financial operations of a rapidly expanding real estate management company. This is a full-time position that primarily requires on-site work, though some remote flexibility may be offered. The ideal candidate will manage daily accounting operations, supervise an offshore bookkeeping team, and engage with property managers and senior executives. Expertise in Appfolio and experience handling specialized financial projects will be crucial for ensuring the efficiency of our financial processes.

Primary Responsibilities:

Oversee all aspects of financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting.

Manage the offshore bookkeeping team, ensuring timely and accurate financial data entry.

Collaborate with property managers to provide support for financial reporting, budgeting, and planning initiatives.

Work closely with company leaders to deliver financial insights, conduct analyses, and make strategic recommendations.

Administer daily accounting functions via Appfolio, ensuring proper documentation of transactions.

Lead special financial projects, offering insights and reporting to support company objectives.

Ensure compliance with financial regulations while maintaining precise financial records.

Formulate and implement policies that enhance financial controls and streamline operational efficiency.

Generate regular financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Assist in the development of budgets, forecasting, and variance analysis with strategic insights.

Manage critical financial operations including cash flow, accounts receivable/payable, and general ledger maintenance.

Conduct bank reconciliations, account analyses, and journal entries.

Supervise accounts payable reporting and manage vendor payment processes.

Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure timely audits and tax submissions.

Maintain communication with ownership and actively participate in company initiatives and community outreach.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance, with a preference for CPA or CMA certification.

Minimum of 5 years experience in accounting, preferably within the property management or real estate sector.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.

Proficient in accounting software, with a preference for Appfolio.

Excellent analytical skills and a strong attention to detail.

Experience managing teams, including offshore teams, is a plus.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with all stakeholders.

High integrity, professionalism, and the ability to handle confidential information discreetly.

Capable of managing multiple projects and solving complex financial challenges simultaneously.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
