JOB PURPOSE

The Senior Officer - Cyber Security is responsible for safeguarding the bank's systems, networks, and data from all cyber threats. This includes designing, implementing, and maintaining security architectures, policies, and controls to ensure compliance with security best practices and regulatory requirements. The role also involves proactive risk assessment, incident response, and driving awareness of cybersecurity across the organization.

Responsible for the protection of system boundaries, keeping computer systems and network devices hardened against attacks, and securing highly sensitive data. This includes designing and managing computer security architecture and developing cyber security designs as per the established security requirements. Ensuring security minimum requirements and best practices are applied consistently across existing and new systems.

SUMMARY OF THE KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Cybersecurity Strategy & Policy

  • Develop, implement, and enforce cybersecurity policies aligned with corporate standards.
  • Provide expert guidance on cybersecurity risks and recommend solutions to mitigate them.

Threat Detection & Incident Response

  • Monitor, detect, and respond to security threats using advanced tools and techniques.
  • Conduct forensic investigations and report incidents to management.

Infrastructure & System Security

  • Manage and secure IT assets, including firewalls, proxies, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and anti-virus systems.
  • Perform regular security testing and hardening of systems based on assessment results.
  • Design and maintain robust security measures for cloud environments and emerging technologies.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure adherence to security frameworks (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS) and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement remediation strategies to improve the banks security posture.

Awareness & Training

  • Develop and deliver cybersecurity training programs to enhance staff awareness.
  • Foster a culture of security by aligning teams with the banks cybersecurity objectives.

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Work with stakeholders to evaluate security aspects of new technologies, vendors, and business partners.
  • Prepare detailed reports on security posture and present findings to management.

KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED AND ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

A: Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related field.
  • Industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCNP, CEH) are strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Windows OS, Active Directory, and enterprise-level IT infrastructure management.

B: Required Experience:

  • At least 3 years of ICT security experience, preferably in the banking sector.

C: Required knowledge and skills
