We are looking for an English language teacher to assess staff English proficiency, design individualized and group lessons, monitor progress, and improve communication skills for both technical and business needs.
Main objectives are:
1. Initial assessment and evaluation
The English language teacher should evaluate the English proficiency of all staff members, as well as candidates during their recruitment process, identifying their English levels, individual needs and areas for improvement. This assessment will be ongoing for both employees and candidates.
To achieve this objective you should:
- Administer language proficiency tests (speaking, writing, listening, and reading) for both employees and candidates.
- Conduct one-on-one interviews to gather information on employees’ goals and challenges.
- KPI: 100% of employees assessed within the first 30 days of joining, and candidates assessed during the recruitment process on an ongoing basis.
2. Individualized and group lessons
Develop and deliver customized English lessons that meet both individual and team needs, especially focusing on business and technical English.
To achieve this objective you should:
- Organize weekly group lessons covering common business and technical communication skills.
- Schedule bi-weekly individual lessons for employees with lower proficiency or specific needs.
- KPI: At least 1 group session per week for all employees and bi-weekly individual lessons for 30% of the team.
3. Improvement in English proficiency
Help employees improve their language skills, with particular emphasis on technical vocabulary, business writing, and cross-cultural communication.
To achieve this objective you should:
- Monitor progress through pre- and post-training evaluations.
- Focus on both technical and conversational English for client-facing interactions and internal communications.
4. Monitoring and reporting progress
Track and report on individual and group progress, making necessary adjustments to the training program.
To achieve this objective you should:
- Use regular evaluations, surveys, and one-on-one check-ins to assess improvements in language skills.
- Document progress and provide actionable insights to HR and team leads.
- Conduct surveys after each session and review progress through quarterly check-ins.
- Adapt lesson content based on feedback to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
- Achieve 90% satisfaction rate in employee and managers feedback surveys regarding the quality of lessons and relevance to their work.
Must-have qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience teaching English as a second language (ESL) or Business English, preferably in a corporate or tech environment.
- Native or near-native proficiency in English (both written and spoken).
- A degree in English, Linguistics, Education, or a related field.
- CELTA, TESOL, TEFL, or other recognized ESL teaching certifications.
- Ability to clearly explain complex topics to non-native speakers and communicate effectively with staff from various backgrounds.
- Comfortable using digital tools for teaching, tracking progress, and communication (e.g., Zoom, Google Classroom, etc.).
- Experience working with international teams and understanding cultural differences in communication.
Nice-to-have qualifications
- Familiarity with technical English, specifically vocabulary used in software development, engineering, or IT fields.
- Experience with advanced teaching techniques such as flipped classrooms, project-based learning, or experiential learning.
- Experience working in a coaching or mentoring capacity, helping employees improve in professional settings.
- Proficiency in other languages (e.g., German, Russian, or any language spoken by team members) would be an asset.
- Ability to design and adjust curriculum based on the diverse needs and levels of the team, ensuring it aligns with business goals and priorities.

- Application screening: Review submitted resumes and cover letters to ensure the candidate meets the required qualifications (teaching experience, certifications, etc.).
- Initial Screening Call: A short (15-20 minutes) call to get to know you, discuss your background, and see why you're interested in this role. You'll also have the chance to ask questions about Munich Ventures.
- HR deep dive interview: In this interview, well explore your teaching methods, as well as your experience in more detail. Well discuss how you plan to help employees improve their English skills and meet Munich Ventures needs.
- Task “Learning development plan for Munich Ventures”: This task focuses on outlining your approach to improving employees' English skills while addressing Munich Ventures’ specific needs and goals. It involves detailing your teaching methods and strategies for effective skill development.
- Executive-Focus Interview: A strategic discussion with one of our co-founders, who will also be your manager. This is your opportunity to present your vision for the role and hear directly from the leadership team about the company’s growth strategy. Feel free to ask your big-picture questions and gain insights into the company’s long-term goals.
