In this vital role, you'll contribute to our agronomic strategies, ensuring we continue to lead the industry in sustainable and profitable farming practices.
Your Impact
As our Agronomist in Bowen, you'll:
- Support our agronomic operations, aligning them with our broader farming strategy to drive success
- Provide valuable insights on crop production and soil management specific to the region, contributing to our growth and profitability
- Collaborate across teams - from Farm to Sales - ensuring quality outcomes that align with our farm-to-table vision
- Assist in inspecting contract growers throughout the region, helping to elevate our entire network's performance
- Implement best practices in agronomy services, maintaining high standards in fruit and vegetable production
- Contribute to the development of our Agronomy Team and Contract Grower pool in North Queensland
- Apply food safety principles (HACCP) in daily operations, ensuring top-quality produce
- Participate in post-harvest assessments, supporting continuous improvement efforts in our Bowen operations
What You'll Bring
- A degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Science, or Applied Science
- At least 2-3 years of experience in vegetable and/or fruit crop production
- A demonstrated ability to deliver quality, customer-focused solutions
- Strong time management and prioritization skills
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Enthusiasm for learning and applying new agricultural technologies and practices
- Willingness to work in varied outdoor conditions
