Farm Hand / Irrigation Specialist

Job Description

Mulgowie Farming Company is one of the largest and most respected horticultural businesses in Australia, specialising in the growing, packing and marketing of fresh produce for domestic and export markets. We are currently seeking self-motivated and experienced Farm Hand to work with our farm team based at Glen Innes NSW, Australia. 

The role will require the successful applicant to take primary responsibility for the efficient irrigation of bean crops using centre pivot and trickle / drip irrigation systems. 

Qualifications:

• Open to applicants in Australia with valid working rights.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence  - Manual 
• Chemical Accreditation 

Experience:

• Experience with safe operation of heavy farm machinery
• Ideally 3 to 5 yrs + farming experience or similar
  
• Irrigation scheduling related to water requirement of crop growth stages
• Use of injector pump and tank system
• Fertigation and chemigation - highly considered
• Cultivation, spraying and watering coordination, and crop and soil knowledge
• Starting irrigation pumps.

• Ability to work extended hours at short notice throughout the week and weekends.
