The Role

Mulgowie Farming Company is seeking experienced, qualified Fitter to work within the maintenance department at our Bowen Packhouse facility, located outside Bowen in North Queensland. As part of a small tight knit team, you will provide preventative maintenance and breakdown support to the packhouse and wider facility.

Your role

• Conduct preventative maintenance on all plant and equipment
• Timely repair and installation of plant and equipment & assessing and prioritising breakdown service requirements.
• Ensures all checks are carried out and all paperwork is filled in correctly
• Ensure that all work meets all company safety and housekeeping requirements and conforms to all relevant regulations
• Fault finding and diagnostic repairs of equipment and machinery
• Assist the wider Maintenance team to identify and implement improvements to Maintenance work methods or procedures in order to improve machine availability

Suitability Criteria

• AQF Certificate III or higher-level trade/industry qualifications (Maintenance/Mechanical)
• Minimum of at least 2 years of relevant working experience

Highly Regarded

• Experience on belt conveyors and augers
• Forklift Ticket
• Mechanical Trade with Restricted Electrical highly regarded 
• Experience with Refrigeration Systems
• Experience with fault finding and repairs on pneumatic or hydraulic systems
• Experience with Packaging and Labelling equipment

Pay

This role has an hourly rate of $43-$46 per hour and is paid in accordance with the Manufacturing and Associated Industries and Occupations Award 2020.
