ROLE PURPOSE:

  • Support Country Manager in all aspects of discovered resources commercialization including negotiation lead for GSAs, SPAs and other commercial agreements, maximising producing asset (Pegaga) commercial value for shareholders, taking lead in formulating and implementing BU asset commercialization strategy in support of BP and WPB, lead in formulating strategy for BNC blended Pegaga condensate marketing and sales and operationalising the agreed strategy.
  • Provide support to Finance Function in Financial modelling, BP and WPB, Exploration Function in areas of commercial and economic support and support in putting in place and operationalising MYBU exploration strategy.
  • When required, with support from AD NBD Team, participate/lead all new business development projects and activities for ME Malaysia.
  • Engage with counterparties in PETRONAS, PETROS, JVPs, other PSC Operators, BNC blended Pegaga condensate buyers, customers, and marketing agents in the context of maximising asset commercial value for ME Malaysia.
  • A member of MYBU Leadership Team.
  • Manage the Team providing commercial and economic advice and insight within Malaysia BU.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

MYBU Leadership

  • Key member of the BU leadership team helping define and operationalise MYBU strategy, business targets and KPI, supporting Country Manager and Leadership team.
  • Ensure a commercial perspective is factored into all BU activities, BP and WPB and that all commercial risks are identified, and mitigating actions identified, and actions taken.
  • Ensure a close and effective working relationship with relevant AD functions with an interest in Malaysia BU commercial activities (Commercial, New Business, Exploration New Ventures, Economics & Planning, Legal) and Petronas and Partners (Shell and PCSB).

SK320 Gas Commercialization (Cengkih and Satellite Gas fields)

  • Identify and evaluate gas commercialization options for SK320 discovered gas resources, considering novel or pathfinding alternatives including options for early gas sales, in close working relationship with Technical and Finance team.
  • Jointly with technical team, present options for discovered resources commercialization to JV Partners, MYBU management Team, XLT and ExCom.
  • Based on selected option, with support from legal team, lead negotiations of all key agreements needed to execute desired option in line with guidance of general policies, mandate and from senior management.
  • Direct and supervise the economics team, ensure quality, and process, DOA compliance.
  • Establish and adhere to processes and framework needed to ensure contract compliance.

Producing Asset Commercial value maximization

  • BU GSAs and SPAs contract holder.
  • Within the Pegaga UGSA remit, maximise the value of Pegaga gas sales via accelerating the make good volume, achieving more sales on opportunity basis in collaboration with Production and Operations Team.
  • Task for constructing and delivering the most value-added commercialization of Pegaga (Cengkih and Satellite gas fields) condensate.
  • Putting in place and operationalise a robust and value premium condensate sales and marketing strategy.
  • Tracks industry trends and maintains knowledge of new technologies to better serve the enterprises architecture needs.

Support to Exploration Team

  • All commercial and economics support to Exploration function in defining and operationalising MYBU exploration strategy. This includes providing advice of PSC fiscal terms and running required economic cases to support Exploration Function proposals and activities.
  • When required, provide coaching or economic courses for members of the exploration team.

Identification and pursuit of Malaysia New Business opportunities

  • Through in-depth understanding of industry activities, identify opportunities to acquire interests in existing assets.
  • Evaluate and develop, present business cases jointly with technical team.
  • Participate as requested in Government committees established to evaluate local gas supply/ demand issues.

Development of local Commercial Team

  • Identify, develop, and motivate high potential nationals in Commercial Team.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Minimum, bachelors degree in engineering or other relevant technical field or Commercial and Finance.
  • Knowledge in Applied Finance, Commercial for those graduated in engineering or relevant technical fields.
  • Candidates should have a minimum of 15 to 20 years Oil & Gas Industry experience, particularly upstream, with focus on business development, negotiations, gas commercialization, oil, and gas development projects.
  • In depth understanding of the PSC (Production Sharing contract) and JOA (Joint Operating agreement
  • Expert in Gas Commercialization activities and contracts, includes putting together relevant contracts and GSAs to support gas commercialization.
  • Expert in condensate and oil marketing and sales, includes putting together sales bids, negotiating, and operationalising SPAs.
  • Extensive knowledge of Asia Pacific LNG market and market trends.
  • Knowledge of oil and gas activities in Malaysia preferred.

Skills:
