Role Purpose

Responsible for strategically incorporating digital technologies, processes, and data-driven solutions to improve organisational efficiency, safety, sustainability, and innovation within the company. This role focuses on identifying opportunities for digital transformation, optimising processes, improve decision-making, unlock new opportunities for innovation and to align with the changing requirements of the organisation and its stakeholders. The Digitalization Specialist holds a crucial position in formulating and executing the digital strategy, ensuring smooth integration, and cultivating a culture that embraces ongoing improvement and technological adaptability.

Key Accountabilities: 

Digital Strategy

Develop and execute digital transformation strategies tailored to the unique needs of the Oil and Gas industry.

Change Management

Lead change management initiatives to ensure smooth transitions during the adoption of digital technologies.

Project Management & Collaboration

  • Implement project management methodologies to oversee the successful execution of digital projects within established timelines and budgets.
  • Collaborate with technical and operational teams to identify opportunities for digital innovation and process optimisation.

Digital Solution Expertise & Implementation

Provide expertise and guidance on the selection and implementation of digital solutions, such as IoT, AI, and data analytics.

Vendor Management

  • Contribute to the management of IT vendors including recommending the selection of vendors, participating in the procurement process for hardware, software and third-party services.

Value Generation Excellence

  • Non-Cost Recoverable E.g. Expenditure exceeding the approved WPB without ABR/BT being raised & approved, Disapproved WPB items being cost recovered.
  • No Procedural Findings in JV and MPM Audits, no recurring issues and all PF raised during the previous audit are closed.
  • Timely response to audit findings and timely actions closure (JV, PETRONAS, MIC)

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

  • Implement approved departmental policies, processes, procedures and instructions and monitor their adherence to the established processes.

Health, Safety, Security & Environment

  • Ensure that all relevant health, safety, security and environmental procedures, instructions and controls are adhered to ensure safety and security of employees, quality of products/services and environmental compliance.
  • Evaluate the impact of digital changes on safety, compliance, and environmental considerations.

Knowledge:

Bachelors or Masters degree in fields like Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field. Having relevant certifications in digital technologies and change management would be an added advantage.

Experience:

Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in roles related to digitalization, technology implementation, or process optimisation.

Experience working in the oil and gas industry is advantage.
