ROLE PURPOSE:

Provide Technical Support and Information Management services for the Exploration, Subsurface and Production departments, drive digital transformation initiative, provide software solutions, data management best practices, standards, policies and procedures, in an effective, timely, and efficient manner.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Information Management

  • Plan and execute the implementation of DDM technologies and process in order to leverage knowledge as a resource to increase efficiency, decision making and productivity.
  • Plan, develop and maintain the technical shared drives, and reorganize/standardize when and as needed
  • Ensure that DDM supports business workflows and that the data is accurate, integrated, properly organized, validated, loaded and easily accessible to users across the different functions and offices.
  • Ensure the integration of Data workflows across applications landscape to support business processes
  • Facilitate systematic and efficient loading and inventory of data, coordinate with IT on backup, disaster recovery and business continuity schemes, and monitor and report on data quality metrics
  • Well, Seismic, RE, Production Data Management: establish/implement procedures and standards, QC loading and storage of data to ensure data integrity in conjunction with exploration and development staff.
  • Able to translate data into actionable insights that can help the organization make informed decisions and improve our operations.

Technical Software Portfolio

  • Collaborate with users and stakeholders to ensure integrated asset teams efficiently use technical applications to support the business
  • Participate in new software evaluation in collaboration with E&P functional heads, SMEs and IT department
  • Provide for training on database and application workflows
  • Manage software releases and licenses for effective delivery to end users.
  • Follow up and supervise software vendors for maintenance, invoicing and other operational activities.
  • Provide project plans for application upgrades / rolls-outs in collaboration with IT and end users.
  • Coordinate the deployment and the implementation of the ME E&P GIS strategy in supporting Senior Specialist

Technical Support

  • Ensure high-quality software support is provided to users by leveraging internal resources, as well as coordinating effectively with software vendors.
  • Develop technical support capabilities within the BU including data mining/collating/loading, formatting, QCing, mapping, physical and electronic documents management, in support of Exploration/Development activities, relinquishments, data rooms, reviews & audits, etc.
  • Proactively manage unstructured data types to reduce search and discovery time, and maximize interpretation and analysis. Recommend storage and retention policies.
  • Proactively opt-out for digitalization capacity to ensure the databases kept up-to-date.

Digital Transformation Implementation support

  • Leverage data and analytics to identify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency improvements, and revenue growth.
  • Manage end-to-end projects to develop and implement data-driven solutions that support digital transformation goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize digital transformation opportunities.
  • Deliver training programs to help stakeholders across Mubadala Energy understand and leverage data and analytics.
  • Staying up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure that Mubadala Energy is well-positioned to take advantage of new opportunities.

Policies, Procedures and Processes

  • Contribute to, give feedback on, implement, validate and update when appropriate, ME DDM policies, procedures and processes, in order to maintain consistency and ease the collaboration between the different locations.
  • Adapt and develop new procedures and processes based on business unit specific requirements in order to enhance information management effectiveness, technical support and workflows, and reduce data-related commercial, technical and financial risk.

Communication

  • Properly manage the interfaces with partners and PETRONAS, data deliveries as per regulations, and follow up on data acquisitions and purchases as and when needed.
  • Communicate effectively vertically and horizontally within the organization, keeping the focus on business requirements, buy-in on new solutions and alignment with ME DDM strategy
  • Maintain good relationships with vendors and software providers for effective relationships and technical support

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

Knowledge:

  • A bachelors degree in geology, geophysics, reservoir engineering or equivalent. Good knowledge of the geosciences & reservoir engineering applications and data management best practices. Holding a certificate in Data science. Good awareness of the oil and gas upstream industry workflows. Familiarity with data visualization and machine learning tools. Capable in handling data repository system and management and building data-driven solution.

Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years experience in the E&P software and information management preferably within an operating E&P company and in actively Supporting technical applications and developing data management solutions/technical workflows. Ability to build and present data visually using tools such as Power BI.
  • Arc GIS and Geophysics experience are desirable.

Skills:

  • Strong data management and analytics skills, with experience using tools such as Excel, SQL, and MS Power platform, MS Azure cloud, Synapse
