Pre Requisite

Malaysian studying full-time at local/overseas universities/colleges and other institutions of higher learning.

Academic Qualification: Studying Bachelor/Masters Degree. Achieved minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.5 at the point of internship application.

Field of Study: Degree in Communications or related fields.

Competencies required:

  • Good written and oral communication in English
  • Good computer skills Microsoft Office application
  • Good interpersonal skills with a positive attitude
  • Motivated to learn and improve knowledge and skills
  • Leadership experience and capabilities through extra-curricular activities

Objectives

  • To provide general exposure to working life within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • To offer insights into Mubadala Energy's approach to strategic communications and stakeholder engagement.
  • To provide in-depth exposure to corporate communications in a dynamic upstream energy environment, by placing the intern in a role where they can actively contribute to delivering the Communications Plan for 2025.

Learning Outcome

Upon completion of the internship programme, the intern is expected to have gained:

  • A foundational understanding of the oil and gas industry, with a focus on the upstream segment.
  • Insights into how strategic communications supports and aligns with various functions across the business, including integration with corporate initiatives such as AIQ and sustainability.
  • Practical experience in internal and external communications, including content creation, stakeholder engagement, and campaign planning.
  • Hands-on exposure to communication strategies around key business themes such as energy transition, corporate responsibility, and brand positioning.

Type of trainings to be included shall be as follows but not limited to:

  • Guided learning sessions and desktop training by Communications team members.
  • On-the-job training and mentorship.
  • Participation in team meetings, cross-functional engagements, and project discussions.
  • Site visits or event support, where practical and relevant.
  • Exposure to internal campaigns, media monitoring, and digital content management.
  • Data gathering and analysis to support communication insights and reporting.
  • Special project/assignment (intern to select a communications initiative or platform and provide recommendations for enhancement from a fresh perspective).
