About the job Officer, Digital Communications
Role Purpose
To plan, create and manage digital communications that support Mubadala Energy's positioning, reputation and stakeholder engagement in Malaysia. The role focuses on developing compelling content and campaigns across internal and external digital channels, including intranet/Viva, email, social and multimedia formats, in close collaboration with the Communications Manager and relevant functions.
The position plays a key role in translating business priorities, CSR initiatives and stakeholder engagement activities into clear, accessible and engaging digital content that strengthens understanding of Mubadala Energy's strategy, operations and social impact.
Key Accountabilities:
Digital Content Strategy & Planning
- Support the Communications Manager in shaping and executing the annual digital communications plan for Malaysia, aligned with global communications priorities and brand guidelines.
- Help identify key messages, audiences, channels and content formats for major campaigns, announcements and initiatives (e.g. CSR programmes, milestones, stakeholder engagements).
- Maintain an integrated content calendar for internal and external digital channels.
Content Creation (Copy, Design & AI-Assisted)
- Draft clear, concise and audience-appropriate content for digital platforms, including intranet/Viva posts, email newsletters, social posts, website updates, talking points and basic scripts.
- Use tools such as Canva and approved AI-assisted platforms to create or adapt visual assets (e.g. banners, graphics, social tiles, infographics) in line with brand guidelines.
- Adapt content for different audiences (leadership, employees, partners, community stakeholders) and ensure consistency of tone and key messages.
Multimedia Production (Video, Photography & Editing)
- § Plan and capture photos and video content for key events, CSR activities, site visits and stakeholder engagements, ensuring HSSE requirements and consent protocols are followed.
- § Perform basic video editing (e.g. trimming, subtitles, simple transitions, music/voiceover integration) for internal and selected external use.
- § Maintain and organise a digital asset library (photos, video clips, artwork) with proper tagging and approvals.
Internal Digital Channels & Employee Engagement
- Manage day-to-day publishing on internal digital channels (e.g. Viva, intranet, internal email distributions) for Malaysia, in coordination with HR, HSSE and other functions.
- Support leadership communications (e.g. messages from Country Manager, townhall recaps, project updates) with clear digital formats and engaging storytelling.
- Track and share simple engagement metrics (views, clicks, comments, feedback) to improve future content.
External Digital Presence (Local Support)
- Support localisation and adaptation of global or regional digital campaigns for the Malaysian context (e.g. key visuals, captions, community-related content), working with the Corporate Communications / Digital team as required.
- Provide content, photos and short updates that can be repurposed by regional or global digital channels.
- Ensure external-facing content is accurate, approved and aligned with regulatory and stakeholder sensitivities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Multimedia or a related field
- 1–2 years in communications, digital content, marketing or related roles, ideally in a corporate or agency environment.
- Experience planning, creating and publishing content for digital channels (internal and/or external).
- Others:
- Strong writing and editing skills in English; proficiency in Malay is an advantage.
- Solid understanding of digital channels (intranet/Viva, email, social platforms) and how audiences use them.
- Proficiency with Canva or similar design tools.
- Photography and videography skills suitable for documenting events and programmes.
- Basic to intermediate video editing skills using common software.
- Familiarity with AI-powered tools for drafting, summarising, translation and content adaptation, with sound editorial judgement and respect for governance.
- Good organisation, time management and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong writing and editing skills in English; proficiency in Malay is an advantage.
