About the job Import Officer

The Import Officer ensures that all importations comply with Bureau of Customs regulations and other government-mandated requirements. This role is responsible for maintaining import process compliance, managing documentation, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient import operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure all importation processes comply with local and international customs regulations, tariffs, duties, taxes, and trade laws.

  • Oversee the preparation and submission of required customs documentation (e.g., invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, import permits) for smooth customs clearance.

  • Monitor and control costs related to importation, including shipping fees, tariffs, customs duties, and incidental expenses.

  • Work closely with shippers, customs officials, freight forwarders, and internal teams to ensure seamless import operations.

  • Prepare regular reports on import activities, highlighting cost savings, on-time delivery rates, and logistics service provider performance.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve import-related issues, including shipment delays, damages, and discrepancies.

  • Collaborate with customs brokers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to resolve challenges and ensure uninterrupted supply chain operations.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics (Import and Export), Customs Administration, or a related field.

  • 2 to 3 years of experience in importation and logistics, preferably from multinational companies.

  • Strong understanding of customs regulations, international shipping, tariffs, and trade compliance.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.

  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

  • Amenable to work in Carmona, Cavite
