About the job Finance & Operations Controller
The international group of investors creating a new retailer brand on Mauritian market is seeking a dynamic, ambitious, and highly capable candidate for position of Finance & Operations Controller reporting directly to the Executive Chairman/Co-Founder. This is a strategic and developmental role designed for a young professional with exceptional organizational and leadership potential, offering a unique opportunity to build a long-term career in senior management within the company.
Key duties :
- Oversee manage all financial operations including accounting, reporting, and cash flow management.
- Supervise stock management processes and ensure accurate valuation and control of inventory across all retail outlets.
- Prepare and monitor financial forecasts, budgets, and cost controls aligned with the companys strategic objectives.
- Manage daily cash flow, payment cycles, and supplier settlements.
- Coordinate with the companys external accounting service provider for compliance, audits, and statutory filings.
- Develop and implement financial control systems to ensure transparency and accountability
- Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports, including business performance, variance analysis, and recommendations.
- Work closely with the Executive Chairman on investment planning, funding strategies, and operational decision-making.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration (ACCA or equivalent qualification preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in finance or business control roles, ideally within FMCG, retail, or distribution sectors.
- Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret data and drive performance improvements.
- Experience working with accounting software and ERP systems
- Hands-on approach, high attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic startup environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work closely with senior leadership and external stakeholders.
- Strong ethics, confidentiality, and professional integrity.
- Driving license
