About the job Associate System Engineer

In the capacity of Associate System Engineer, you will maintain and support the IT systems, ensure optimal performance and security, and provide Level 2 technical support while collaborating with teams to implement solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure in accordance with company standards and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Identify business and technical requirements to define system functionality throughout the service development lifecycle.
  • Coordinate testing, validation, and deployment of system designs in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, application software, and management tools.
  • Ensure optimal system uptime, capacity, and performance across environments.
  • Execute and track warranty, patching, and support activities.
  • Evaluate existing systems and recommend improvements or automation opportunities for enhanced efficiency.
  • Provide technical direction and assistance to IT support teams for complex incidents or escalations.
  • Deploy and maintain network devices such as firewalls, switches, and access points.
  • Oversee the development and integration of customized hardware and software solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure quality deliverables and compliance with company policies.
  • Provide Level 2 support to the Service Desk and contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing.

Required Profile and Qualifications

  • Professional certifications such as Microsoft (MCSA/MCSE), Cisco (CCNA), or CompTIA are a plus.
  • Hands-on experience (minimum 2 years) with:
    o Networking: Cisco or Sophos technologies
    o Servers: Windows or Linux environments
  • Strong technical background in IT systems and infrastructure management.
  • Proficient in Active Directory administration.
  • Basic knowledge of Backup solutions and data protection processes.
  • Fundamental understanding of Networking concepts (routing, switching, firewalls).
  • Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, or Python preferred).
  • Experience in system reporting and documentation.
  • Fluent in French and English (spoken and written).
  • Valid drivers license
