The international group of investors creating a new retailer brand on Mauritian market is seeking a dynamic, ambitious, and highly capable candidate for position of Head of Commercial reporting directly to the Executive Chairman/Co-Founder. This is a strategic and developmental role designed for a young professional with exceptional organisational and leadership potential, offering a unique opportunity to build a long-term career in senior management within the company.

The successful candidate will act as the key person as a key person managing a team of buyers and category managers, who will be responsible for decisions related to the selection and purchase of dry food, non-food groceries and non-food products. As a member of the company's senior management team, will take key part in decisions about the company's product range, pricing and promotional policies.

Key duties :

Strategic & Commercial Leadership

  • Commercial strategy design & execution gotomarket, pricing, revenue models.
  • P&L management budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance ownership.
  • Market positioning & growth strategy building brand and category leadership.
  • Business development new revenue streams, formats, and partnerships.
  • Negotiation & key account leadership suppliers, distributors, retail partners.

Food Retail & FMCG Expertise

  • Grocery & convenience dynamics pricing, margins, store operations.
  • Category management assortment, shelf profitability.
  • Supply chain & procurement vendor management, sourcing, cost optimization.
  • Merchandising & trade marketing shopper insights, POS activation, promo planning.
  • Regulatory compliance food safety, labeling, and pricecap adherence.

Startup & ScaleUp Experience

  • Gotomarket execution in earlystage environments, building processes from zero.
  • Agile, datadriven decisionmaking and rapid iteration.
  • Fundraising & investor relations support translating KPIs to investor value.
