Transport Officer

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Transport Officer to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will oversee the efficient operation and maintenance of the client company's vehicle fleet, ensuring compliance with Mauritian laws and internal policies. 

This role requires a valid driving license, computer literacy, and a basic understanding of vehicle mechanics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Vehicle Maintenance: Keep all company vehicles in good working order and ensure they follow Mauritian laws.
• Efficiency: Find ways to improve how the transport section operates, making sure vehicles are used effectively.
• Repairs and Purchases: Manage vehicle repairs, purchases, and sales to benefit the company.
• Support: Help vehicle users with any issues or questions and report problems to management.
• Staff Transportation: Arrange transportation for staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Driver Oversight: Ensure drivers follow safety rules and take care of the vehicles they use.
• Training: Educate staff on traffic laws and promote safe driving practices.

Requirements:

• Valid driving license.
• Proficiency in computer usage, with basic knowledge of Excel.
• Basic understanding of vehicle mechanics and maintenance.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
