Job Title: Pharmacist
Location: West Region, Mauritius
Working Hours:
- Monday Thursday: 08:00 - 13:30 (Morning Shift), 13:30 - 19:00 (Afternoon Shift)
- Friday & Saturday: 08:00 - 14:30 (Morning Shift), 14:30 - 20:00 (Afternoon Shift)
- Sunday: 08:00 - 15:00
Responsibilities:
- Medication Management: Oversee all aspects of medication management, including prescription verification, compounding, dispensing, and counseling patients on proper medication usage, dosage, and potential side effects.
- Clinical Consultation: Provide comprehensive clinical consultations to patients, collaborating with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy, manage chronic conditions, and ensure patient safety and adherence.
- Leadership and Supervision: Lead and supervise pharmacy staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, best practices, and organizational policies.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality assurance programs, including medication reconciliation, adverse drug event monitoring, and continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory control processes, including procurement, stock monitoring, and management of medication supplies to ensure adequate inventory levels while minimizing wastage and expiry.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and professional standards governing pharmacy operations, including privacy laws, medication safety protocols, and ethical standards.
Requirements:
- Education and Licensure: Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution, supplemented by current registration and licensure as a pharmacist in Mauritius.
- Experience: Demonstrated experience working as a pharmacist in a clinical or community pharmacy setting, with a strong understanding of medication management, clinical counseling, and pharmacy operations.
- Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team, foster a positive work environment, and collaborate effectively with healthcare providers and stakeholders.
- Clinical Expertise: Advanced clinical knowledge and expertise in pharmacotherapy, medication management, and patient counseling, with a focus on optimizing therapeutic outcomes and minimizing medication-related risks.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in pharmacy software systems, inventory management tools, and other relevant technology platforms.
- Ethical Conduct: Commitment to upholding ethical standards, patient confidentiality, and professional integrity in all aspects of pharmacy practice.
