Job Description:
We are seeking a diligent and customer-oriented individual to join a team as a Pharmacy Cashier at the west of Mauritius. As a Pharmacy Cashier, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while efficiently managing transactions and ensuring accuracy in handling payments. This role requires individuals with a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers warmly as they enter the pharmacy and assist them with their inquiries or direct them to the appropriate staff member.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using the pharmacy's computerized system, including ringing up purchases, handling cash, debit/credit card transactions, and issuing receipts.
- Maintain a neat and organized cashier area, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Verify insurance information and process insurance claims for prescription medications as needed.
- Collaborate with pharmacy staff to answer customer questions regarding product availability, prices, and usage.
- Provide information on over-the-counter medications, supplements, and other products available in the pharmacy.
- Uphold a positive and professional demeanor when interacting with customers and colleagues, resolving any customer complaints or concerns in a timely and efficient manner.
- Stay informed about promotions, special offers, and new products to effectively promote sales and enhance customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a Secondary School Certificate (SC) or Higher School Certificate (HSC).
- Previous experience in a cashier or customer service role is preferred.
- Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and multitask efficiently.
- Proficiency in using computerized point-of-sale systems and basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical products and terminology is an asset.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Must reside in the west region of Mauritius or be willing to commute to the designated location.
- Ability to speak English and French fluently is preferred.
