Cashier's responsibilities:

1. Greet Customers Upon Arrival:

  • Welcome each customer warmly, creating a friendly and inviting atmosphere in the store.
  • Answer any initial questions or direct customers to the appropriate section of the store.

2. Complete Client's Purchase Transactions Quickly and Efficiently:

  • Scan items accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • Handle various forms of payment, including cash, credit/debit cards, and mobile payments, ensuring correct amounts are processed.
  • Bag purchased items in a customer-friendly manner, offering assistance as needed.

3. Ensure Till Tally at End of Service:

  • Perform daily balancing of the cash drawer, ensuring that the amounts match sales records.
  • Report any discrepancies immediately to a supervisor or manager.
  • Safeguard cash and other forms of payment, following store policies for handling and storage.

4. Restock Retail Shelves:

  • Monitor product levels on shelves and replenish stock as needed to maintain an appealing and well-organized display.
  • Rotate products according to the stores guidelines to ensure older stock is sold first.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the storage areas to facilitate easy restocking.

5. Take Inventory of Store Merchandise:

  • Conduct regular inventory checks to monitor stock levels and identify any discrepancies.
  • Assist in receiving and storing new shipments of products, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
  • Report low stock levels or potential shortages to management for reordering.

6. Build Merchandise Displays:

  • Create visually appealing and strategic product displays to attract customers and boost sales.
  • Follow store guidelines or seasonal trends in arranging merchandise displays.
  • Monitor and adjust displays based on sales trends, customer feedback, or inventory changes.
