About the job Assistant Accountant
JOB PURPOSE:
To provide daily support to the Finance department by performing a variety of tasks related to financial record, keeping, reporting, and analysis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
KRA Accounts Payable
- Process and verify invoices, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
- Prepare and perform timely payments to suppliers.
- Prepare monthly payments for clients.
- Reconcile the statement of account.
- Attend to clients queries and do the liaison between the team and clients to resolve any issue.
KRA - Financial Reporting
- Prepare and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
- Maintain the general ledger, accounting records and corresponding reconciliation schedules of the
- Company in an accurate manner.
- Maintain the Fixed Asset Register on a regular basis.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly accounts reconciliations and management reports.
- Analyse expenses and revenues to ensure that reports are recorded properly monthly.
- Assist in preparing financial analysis reports, including variance analysis and trend analysis.
- Assist in the production of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets and cash
- flow statements.
- Process bank/cash transactions and reconcile same.
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of Budgets and forecasts.
- Assist with financial and tax audits.
KRA Yearly/Monthly Returns:
- Responsible for VAT and TDS returns.
Education and Qualifications:
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or any related field.
- Or an ACCA Level 1.
- A minimum of 2 5 years of working experience in Accounting.
- Excellent command in Excel.
