Assistant Manager – Technical

Embark on a journey of change by joining our client as an Assistant Manager – Technical to provide technical advice and guidance to pattern techs and Sewing Technicians during the product development process by adhering to the critical path while ensuring customer and manufacturing expectations are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and attend relevant technical meetings, emphasizing product manufacturability, possible risk factors, and all other technical challenges to ensure timely solutions for an effective garment construction process.
  • Lead the technical team in monitoring the Critical Path flow to ensure customer expectations are met.
  • Supervise the accuracy of pattern creation in alignment with the design intent and according to the process upon receipt of the tech pack to ensure that no pattern issues are highlighted.
  • Facilitate smooth production by ensuring timely communication of technical knowledge among stakeholders to ensure zero product-related matters.
  • Verify the accuracy of patterns against samples, identifying and addressing all technical issues.
  • Ensure customer comments are accurately incorporated at each cycle to achieve the expected fit requirements.
  • Ensure patterns are graded accurately according to customer specifications.
  • Ensure all samples meet the given specifications and standards prior to fitting and dispatching them to the customer along with the relevant documents.
  • Participate in fit sessions and adhere to fit protocols.
  • Facilitate costing, sampling, and ordering processes by providing accurate patterns and other relevant documents in a timely manner.
  • Initiate factory engagement points (DRA, PDRA, FI) in a timely manner and provide accurate product-related information, sharing expertise to ensure product manufacturability.
  • Coordinate all activities pertaining to the preparation of tech packs by liaising with relevant teams; ensuring on-time and accurate document submission to production.
  • Drive required performance improvement projects and use MOS principles in day-to-day activities to ensure that the technical team members are aligned to the Lean Manufacturing Principles practiced as organizational standards.
  • Establish and implement the ISO 9001:2015, ISO 13485:2016, and GMP standards requirements within the scope of the responsibilities assigned under job-related processes.

Qualifications, Experience, Skills, and Competencies:

  • Relevant Degree (BSc) in Textile and Clothing
  • 4 to 5 years’ experience in a similar capacity
  • 3+ years’ experience in Intimates pattern making, grading, and fitting
  • Proven knowledge in sewing construction and sample quality checking
  • Effective communication skills (written and spoken) in English
  • Analytical skills
