Introduction

We are seeking a passionate creative to join our Madrid studio as a Senior Designer. An advocate for quality design within Mormedi, our clients organizations and within the industry. An emerging leader with experience and knowledge who will inspire and motivate our team, our clients, and our clients customers.

In this Role you will:

• Support, participate in, and lead client projects, partnering with Mormedi design leadership (Leads, Head of Design, VP Design) to drive successful design outcomes, taking on responsibility for content quality and helping to maintain profitability.
• Balance creative and commercial objectives (e.g. project hours and margin) without undermining the quality of our work.
• Be an important creative leader within the studio environment, guiding and mentoring junior members of the team.
• Be confident in leading client presentations and direct the team to support.
• Be a natural communicator internally and externally. Bring a positive energy to any conversation, with purpose and vision.
• Be business savvy, able to identify opportunities and see the future potential in current projects or client engagement.
• Be committed to raising the quality of Mormedis design output, and to continuous improvement by evolving your expertise in the design of physical products and experiences (Product, Transport, Retail) as well as the development and manufacturing processes by which they are created.
• Seek to understand and support other design disciplines and processes (across Strategy, Brand, Digital and Service design) as well as maintain a view of new technologies and industry developments (AR, VR, AI, wearables, etc) and how Mormedi can meaningfully integrate these into our work.

Skills

• Concept creation and storytelling Be able to create novel ideas, both individually and as part of a team, and to describe the why behind the most relevant, meaningful, and compelling concepts. High level of confidence in sketching, both manually and using digital tools. The ability to create and/or direct the creation of presentations with a compelling storytelling component.
• Methodology expertise Deep understanding of your field and the design methodologies needed. As well as some appreciation of those of other disciplines within project methodologies. Basic knowledge of UX/UI methodologies are highly appreciated.
• Ability to lead and motivate Proactively foster a positive working environment and an engaged team that can deliver excellent collaborative work.
• Project management Ability to manage multiple smaller projects (or one big one) with competing deadlines, establish resource and project priorities, efficient task planning and follow-up with periodic reporting of project status and key information to leadership team.
• Software High level of expertise and efficiency in project design-related software, the ability and willingness to train and coach the team in their use:
  • Modeling software Creo, Alias, Rhinoceros, AutoCAD
  • Rendering software Keyshot, Vray, Unreal, Blender
  • Animation and motion tools UE5, Keyshot, After Effects
  • Adobe Suite Photoshop, Illustrator
  • Microsoft Office PowerPoint, Word, Excel
• Oral and written communication Ability and maturity regarding all levels of communication. High professional proficiency in English and Spanish (spoken and written) required. A third language is appreciated.
  

Experience
Minimum 6 years of experience in the industrial design field.
Experience in leading projects and mentoring junior team members.

Qualifications
An appropriate Bachelor or Masters design qualification.
The ability to travel frequently and permission to live and work in Spain.
