Job Description

We are seeking a Growth Creative Strategist to own the creative learning system that drives customer acquisition and revenue growth for a high-consideration DTC ecommerce brand.

This role is focused on understanding customer psychology, identifying what messaging drives purchase decisions, and building a repeatable system for testing, learning, and improving creative performance over time.

Unlike brands selling impulse-purchase products, our customers often spend weeks researching, comparing options, discussing purchases with family members, and evaluating whether our products are right for their homes. As a result, success in this role requires a deep understanding of customer behavior, objection handling, buying psychology, and creative sequencing across the customer journey.

The ideal candidate can connect customer insights, performance data, creative strategy, and production workflows into a structured testing engine that continuously improves acquisition performance.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Journey & Creative Strategy

  • Map customer awareness stages, buying behavior, objections, and motivations

  • Develop creative concepts tailored to different stages of the customer journey

  • Build messaging frameworks that address customer concerns and increase purchase confidence

  • Design creative sequences across awareness, consideration, comparison, and conversion stages

  • Develop structured approaches to customer education and trust-building

Creative Testing & Learning Systems

  • Own the creative testing roadmap across paid acquisition channels

  • Develop monthly and quarterly testing plans

  • Identify new hooks, angles, concepts, formats, and creative opportunities

  • Prioritize testing initiatives based on performance data and business goals

  • Maintain a structured testing backlog and creative learning library

  • Build systems that improve creative iteration speed and organizational learning

Creative Brief Development

  • Translate customer insights and performance learnings into production-ready briefs

  • Write ad concepts, scripts, and creative outlines

  • Develop creator briefs and testimonial frameworks

  • Define messaging, visual direction, and creative requirements

  • Ensure production teams execute concepts as intended

Performance Analysis & Optimization

  • Review creative performance and testing results regularly

  • Analyze winning and underperforming concepts

  • Identify patterns across audiences, hooks, offers, and creative formats

  • Translate performance data into new creative hypotheses

  • Present findings and recommendations to leadership

UGC & Creator Program Development

  • Help build and scale customer-generated content initiatives

  • Identify ideal creator and customer profiles

  • Recruit, brief, and manage creators when needed

  • Match concepts with appropriate creators and customer stories

  • Build repeatable systems for sourcing authentic customer content

Creative Production Collaboration

  • Collaborate with editors, producers, creators, and growth teams

  • Review raw footage and creative assets

  • Provide feedback on edits and creative execution

  • Support content production planning and prioritization

  • Ensure final assets align with strategic objectives

Qualifications

Required

  • 3+ years of experience in creative strategy, direct response marketing, growth marketing, performance creative, copywriting, or related disciplines

  • Experience marketing considered-purchase products with longer buying cycles

  • Strong understanding of customer psychology, customer research, and buying behavior

  • Experience developing messaging frameworks, creative concepts, and testing roadmaps

  • Strong direct response copywriting and communication skills

  • Experience briefing creators, editors, or production teams

  • Experience analyzing performance data and translating insights into creative decisions

  • Ability to move between strategic thinking and hands-on execution

  • Strong understanding of customer awareness levels, objection handling, and belief-building

  • Experience working with ecommerce brands and performance-driven marketing environments

Preferred

  • Experience marketing furniture, home goods, mattresses, premium fitness equipment, outdoor products, appliances, automotive products, or other high-consideration purchases

  • Experience with Meta advertising ecosystems

  • Experience building structured creative testing frameworks

  • Experience with customer research programs

  • Experience managing UGC creator initiatives

  • Experience with retargeting strategies and customer journey sequencing

  • Familiarity with awareness-stage, consideration-stage, and conversion-stage messaging
