About the job Assistant Projects Manager
The role
We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager, who will work across the whole Property Design Team to provide co-ordination of the multi-disciplinary activities. In this role, you will manage the production of fee estimates, co-ordinate design teams, manage resources and control our procedures, set out in our Project Management handbook. You will also manage the implementation of Health and Safety procedures.
This role is suitable for someone with experience working with multi-disciplinary building design teams, e.g. Architects, Building Services Engineers, Structural Engineers, Building Surveyors. You will understand contract change management and be able to uphold the principles of good health and safety practice.
The role will include direct communication with our clients and good communication skills are essential.
Key accountabilities
- Assist in the preparation of tender documents, collating the individual discipline estimates.
- Manage the Amey governance gateway ensuring all our tenders are signed off internally in line with our governance procedures.
- Liaise with the Health and Safety lead to ensure H&S Procedures are being followed
- Undertake commercial management of sub-consultants
- Directly manage projects ensuring delivery on time and to scope
- Liaise with the relevant design package leads to ensure compliance with contractual requirements - scope, programme, checking and challenging payment applications/ time bookings etc.
- Work with the Risk Manager for the project to support the day-to-day project risk management process, identifying opportunities and risks
Skills & experience
We want to hear from you if you have:
- Degree qualification in a relevant discipline
- APM Qualified or working towards
- Demonstratable experience of working within a similar role or managing a project or number of projects
- Experience in delivery management and initiatives to improve team capability
- Knowledge of CDM regulations and other health and safety legislation
- IOSH Managing Safely qualification would be beneficial
- Knowledge of Management of project risk
