Monocle is looking for a Junior Writer to join our internal team, directly reporting to the Writing Senior Manager and the CEO. As a Junior Writer your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Writing subject matter specific white papers, case studies, marketing materials, presentations, and all collateral materials that describe the project work at Monocle and research of appropriate Monocle topics, for marketing purposes externally from Monocle, and for educational purposes internally at Monocle.
  • Editing all opinion pieces, news items, newsletter articles, white papers, case studies, and research studies written by any Monocle employee, or in service of either the Monocle mentorship programme or Monocles newsletter, website and marketing material.
  • Conducting thorough, well-referenced research on a range of topics relevant to articles, books and any other project undertaken by the writing team
  • Contributing to the training and development of colleagues, in the form of formal and informal training and knowledge sharing

The successful candidate must:

  • Hold a Masters degree in English
  • Have excellent communication and strong reading, writing and research skills
  • Have 1-2 years previous writing experience with a proven track record of success
  • Demonstrate first class writing and research skills with the ability to create high-quality, authoritative content for a professional and specialist audience

Recruitment Process:

During the interview process, you will meet with different Monocle representatives including both People and Culture representatives and the Senior Manager you would report to.
