About the job Journeyman Toolmaker
Seeking an experienced Journeyman Tool and Die Wire EDM Technician to build and maintain a wide range of components for progressive, compound, and secondary dies. Wire EDM Technician will prioritize/manage workload of existing jobs in the tooling area. We have availability on 1st Shift with minimum of 40-50 hours per week. This position reports directly to the Tool Room Manager.
While performing the duties of this job, the Wire EDM Technician must be able to stand for long periods of time, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach with hands and arms, use of fingers, handle or feel. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is important for normal conversations, to receive ordinary or vital information and to prepare and inspect documents. The noise level in the Tool Room is low-moderate and production floor environment is usually moderate-loud.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for originating and implementing inspection procedures and plans
Responsible for the PPAPs, FAIs, Control Plans, Process Capabilities Studies, GR&R and FEMAs as part of APQPs and NPIs processes
Directing customer liaison on quality matters involving Amity Die and Stamping (ADS)
Receiving direct communications relating to quality problems from customer, purchasing, engineering, quality, customer service and sales personnel
Assisting Director of Quality in answering to the customer complaints, QRs, CARs, 8D reports within specified time frame
Reviewing and initiating RMA, MRs and Nonconformance Reports via Shoptech E2
Implementing and assuring proper corrective action
Implementing and assuring proper material dispositions and initiating material review actions, if necessary
Requesting Design and Manufacturing Engineering assistance if necessary
Assuring incoming, in-process and outgoing quality
Responsible for creation and handling of Non-Conformance Reports, Disposition of Nonconformance Materials/Products/Parts and Recording Cost or Poor Quality via Shoptech E2
Initiation of Quality Warnings/Alerts, Product Deviations or Waivers. Follow up with customers to ensure acceptance/approval of Product Deviations or Waivers
Initiating required layouts. Responsible for inspection activities
Administering necessary follow up on historical problems. Notifying management team of critical problem areas
Interfacing with ADS suppliers on Quality problems. Work with supply chain team to resolve supplier/s related issue
Initiate CARs and 8Ds to supplier and ensure it is completion
Surveying appropriate potential suppliers for quality capability
Participate for ADS customer and auditor visitations
ISO lead Auditor experience is required. CMM and/or Vision measuring system (Micro-Vu) (InSpec Metrology Software) Program/Operate Keyence IM -7000 series Digital Inspection
Required Skills & Knowledge:
High School Diploma and TMA certificate or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years of Tool and Die Wire EDM experience
Experience working in Manufacturing industry
Knowledge and operation of all tool room equipment safely and efficiently
Ability to follow procedures and instructions per ISO requirements
Good written & verbal skills in English; Spanish Bilingual is a plus
Ability and willingness to work overtime when necessary
Must be able to work as a team member and not only as an individual
Dependable and punctual
SolidWorks CAD experience a plus
