About the job CNC Machinist (Level 2)
The primary objective of the CNC Machinist II position is to perform lathe and mill tasks, continuously learn all aspects of CNC operations and the trade, and support the manufacturing process as a part of the Production Team. This position also involves filling in as needed in other areas to ensure efficient and timely production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate lathe and mill machines to manufacture parts to exacting blueprint specifications within a cell with multiple machines
- Continuously learn and develop skills in all aspects of CNC operations and the trade
- Work collaboratively with the Production Team to ensure smooth and efficient production processes
- Fill in as needed in other areas of the manufacturing process to support production goals
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety protocols
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with machines and equipment as needed
- Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure production goals are met
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and quality standards
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating CNC lathe and mill machines
- Knowledge of blueprint reading and interpretation
- Proficient in using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Basic understanding of CNC programming and G-code
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical degree or certification in CNC machining
- Experience with multiple types of CNC machines and controls
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles
- Experience with CAD/CAM software
- Knowledge of ISO and AS9100 quality standards
