Job Description Summary

Supervises, and coordinates activities in all stamping depts. to process materials and/or manufacturing products, will work with the tool room and maintenance dept.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all production equipment meet standard rates on a daily basis for on- time delivery.
  • Ensure that all operators are assign to their workstation and performing duties required of them.
  • Evaluate/ Implement continuous improvement and/or development for production.
  • Work with MRP system to report production, check order status and issue maintenance requests.
  • Work with supporting departs to keep production floor running to meet customer requirements.
  • Oversee the training/ re-training of all current/ new employees on all process and practices.
  • Understand/ conduct annual appraisals for the dept.
  • Use of inspection tools to check parts.
  • Responsible for informing the Operation Manager of all noteworthy activities that take place.
  • Follow ISO/IATF, safety, and environmental procedures as well as department and corporate policies and
  • procedures.

Authority

  • Oversight of production.
  • Stop production if quality is not to standards.

Job Knowledge; Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of stamping.
  • Thorough knowledge of ISO/QS9000/TS16949 requirements as they pertain to the production cycle.
  • Knowledge of equipment in manufacturing environment either steel, dies, and/ or forming processes.
  • Thoroughness and detail oriented.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications and engineering blueprints.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize simultaneous project in an environment that demands change.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and apply analytical skills.
  • Ability to foster and maintain a team effort within the department.

Education and Training

  • High school or equivalent
  • Five years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.

Tools and Equipment

  • Measuring instruments.
  • Steel toed shoes, safety glasses and ear plugs are required at all times.
