CNC Lathe Machinist

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to read and interpret sketches, and blueprints, 
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of tools and proper use of fixtures.
  • Set up and operate one or more CNC lathes for the purpose of turning parts.
  • Ability to program, manage files, and edit as needed to machine parts to size per print.
  • Set up equipment according to specifications on product blueprints with little or no supervision.
  • Select proper programs, fixtures, tooling, drills, and inserts as needed.
  • Adjust controls to vary the depth of cut, RPM, and, rate of feed.
  • Ability to polish and maintain size and finish per print.
  • Verify conformance of work to specification using gauges, and micrometers.
  • Maintain an accurate count and record production pieces and hours of production.
  • Maintain product handling to protect it from damage.
  • Keep equipment and products free of FOD and Foreign Object Debris.
  • Maintain a clean work area based on company housekeeping protocol.

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience or a combination with job-related schooling.
  • Experience with micrometers, calipers, and/or other precision measurement tools.
  • Programming Skills (Smart Cam, Gibbs Cam, etc.).
  • Strong math skills.
  • Ability to work well with a team while also working independently.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to organize and prioritize.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
