As a Systems Administrator at MLG Consult, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliable operation and efficient performance of our clients' computer systems and networks.

Responsibilities:

1. Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, servers, and network infrastructure.
2. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to optimize system efficiency and uptime.
3. Administer user accounts, permissions, and access rights to ensure data security and integrity.
4. Perform regular system backups and implement disaster recovery plans to ensure data protection and business continuity.
5. Maintain and update system documentation, including hardware and software configurations, network diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain security measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
7. Manage software installations, upgrades, and patches, ensuring compatibility and compliance with licensing agreements.
8. Monitor and manage system resources, including disk space, memory utilization, and CPU usage, to ensure optimal performance.
9. Respond to system outages and incidents in a timely manner, conducting root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures.
10. Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending infrastructure improvements and system upgrades as needed.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. Proven experience as a Systems Administrator or a similar role, with a strong background in administering and maintaining computer systems.
3. Solid knowledge of operating systems, such as Windows Server, Linux, or Unix, and familiarity with virtualization technologies.
4. Experience with network administration, including LAN, WAN, routers, switches, and VPN.
5. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automating routine tasks.
6. Understanding of security best practices and experience implementing security measures, such as access controls and patch management.
7. Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery technologies and methodologies.
8. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve system issues.
9. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with clients and cross-functional teams.
10. Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator, Cisco Certified Network Associate) are a plus.
