About the job Head of New Business

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Plan, determine policy direction, and establish operational guidelines for new business units to generate benefits and value for the organization. Focus on quality, efficiency, and creating value-added products.
  • Product Development: Oversee and monitor the progress of various business projects to ensure they are completed according to the set plans.
  • Investment: Seek out and invest in new innovations and technologies for business operations, product development, and new services for consumers and partners. Create new business opportunities through innovative services that can be marketed to other businesses, and invest in new company ventures comparable to internal and external competitors.
  • Financial Performance Management: Develop policies and guidelines for managing the financial performance of new businesses, focusing on P&L, EVA, and costs. Monitor performance to ensure it meets the set goals.
  • Budget Management: Establish policies and guidelines for managing investment budgets, costs, and expenses of new businesses. Ensure operations align with these guidelines, maintaining competitive costs within the defined budget.
  • Internal Relationship Management: Coordinate and foster good relationships with internal departments such as the sugarcane group, factory group, marketing group, and energy group, as well as with Mitr Phol Group shareholders. Ensure smooth operations and minimize the impact on new business operations.
  • External Relationship Management: Represent the company in creating collaborations with global research organizations and relevant business partners to gain business advantages and leverage opportunities. Engage with stakeholders from both the public and private sectors to foster deep mutual benefits.
  • People Management: Manage the workforce to align with the operational and production plans of each responsible factory. Set challenging work goals, manage employee performance to meet set targets, and evaluate employees based on their competencies. Foster engagement between different departments within the division.
  • Successor Development: Develop successors, and support the development of successors in lower positions. Promote the enhancement of employees' knowledge, capabilities, and skills to increase their work potential. Build a strong internal team to drive the business forward.

Qualifications:

  • Education background in relevant science or engineering field (such as chemical, biotech or related) with postgraduate degree in business management preferred.
  • Proven experience in setting up and manage successful business, project management in bio-based business.
  • A business savvy person with strong entrepreneur spirit.
  • Ability to devise strategy, strong negotiation skill.
  • An inclusive leader with the ability to work effectively across levels in the organization.
