Senior Consultant/ Tech Lead - Banking Technology

Job Description

• Lead end-to-end technical delivery for Finacle and Temenos implementations, upgrades, and support projects
• Define and govern technical architecture, development standards, and best practices
• Review and approve technical designs, customizations, and code deliverables
• Mentor and guide technical teams across development and support functions
• Drive development and customization using Finacle and Temenos frameworks and APIs
• Manage integrations with channels, payments, treasury, cards, AML, and regulatory systems
• Oversee performance tuning, capacity planning, and high-availability setups
• Act as the primary technical escalation point for complex production issues
• Work closely with functional consultants, business users, and client IT teams
• Participate in requirement analysis, solution design discussions, and technical workshops
• Support project estimations, delivery planning, and risk mitigation activities
• Ensure alignment between business requirements and technical solutions
• Lead L2/L3 production support, root cause analysis, and permanent resolution of issues
• Manage system upgrades, patches, and environment migrations
• Ensure compliance with SLAs, security policies, and audit requirements

Person Specification

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in software development, including at least 5 years within the Banking / Financial Services industry, and a minimum of 3 years in leading and managing technical teams
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Strong hands-on experience with Finacle CBS and/or Temenos Transact
• Solid expertise in Java / J2EE, Spring Framework, REST / SOAP web services, enterprise integrations (ESB, MQ, ISO 20022, SWIFT), Oracle / PostgreSQL / MS SQL databases, and Unix/Linux environments with scripting
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, or private cloud)
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) concepts
• Awareness of DevOps / CI/CD practices
• Conceptual understanding of AI / ML use cases in banking (e.g., fraud detection, analytics, automation)
• Strong understanding of core banking modules such as CASA, Loans, Deposits, Payments, and Trade Finance
• Knowledge of banking security, regulatory, and compliance requirements
• Experience with digital banking and API ecosystems is an added advantage
• Proven experience in leading technical teams within banking environments
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
• Finacle and/or Temenos technical certifications preferred
• Exposure to Agile, ITIL, or cloud certifications will be an added advantage
