Role Summary
Highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer specializing in Windows Administration (Level 3). This role involves managing, maintaining, and optimizing Windows-based systems in a complex IT environment. The ideal candidate will be a technical expert, providing leadership in troubleshooting, implementing best practices, and mentoring junior team members.
Job Description
- Manage and maintain Windows Server environments, including installation, configuration, and planning upgrades
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for Windows operating systems and related services
- Optimize server performance and ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness
- Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, and other core Windows services
- Manage cloud-based Windows environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, or hybrid solutions)
- Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and regulatory standards
- Implement and manage patching processes for servers
- Perform vulnerability assessments and remediate security issues on Windows systems
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell or other scripting languages
- Conduct post-incident reviews and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Implement process automation for routine tasks to improve operational efficiency
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to L1/L2 administrators and team members
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including network, storage, and application teams, to resolve issues
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides
Person Specification
- Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server (MCSE/MCITP), Azure Administrator Associate are preferred
- Proficiency in managing Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) environments
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policies, and related services
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) and hybrid cloud environments
- Advanced PowerShell scripting and automation skills
- In-depth knowledge of ITIL processes and best practices
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Leadership and mentoring capabilities
- 7 Years of experience in Windows Administration
