Role Summary
The Senior Network admin is responsible for the design, implementation, management, and maintenance of enterprise network infrastructure. This role requires extensive experience in managing complex network environments, including Cisco voice solutions, Cisco wireless networks, Palo Alto and FortiGate firewalls, and Cisco Catalyst 9500 core switches. The ideal candidate will ensure the stability, security, and optimal performance of the network while supporting business needs and ensuring high availability.
Job Description
- Design, deploy, and manage Cisco Voice solutions, including call management, VoIP, and collaboration systems
- Configure and maintain Cisco Wireless networks, ensuring high availability, security, and optimal performance
- Implement and manage Palo Alto Firewalls, including security policies, threat prevention, and VPN configurations
- Configure and maintain FortiGate Firewalls, ensuring robust network security and traffic management
- Manage, configure, and optimize Cisco 9500 Core Switches for enterprise-level routing and switching
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior network engineers, fostering skill development and ensuring best practices are followed
- Troubleshoot complex networking issues and ensure minimal downtime across the infrastructure
- Conduct network assessments to identify areas of improvement and recommend best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of network components with other IT systems
- Document network configurations, policies, and procedures for future reference
Person Specification
- Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Cisco certifications such as CCNP R&S, CCNP Security, CCNP Collaboration etc
- Palo Alto certifications such as PCNSA, PCNSE, etc
- Fortinet certifications such as NSE 4, NSE 7, FCP, FCSS, etc
- ITIL Foundation is an added advantage
- Strong expertise in Cisco Voice technologies, including CUCM, CME
- Proficiency in Cisco Wireless solutions, including access points, controllers, and security policies
- In-depth knowledge of Palo Alto Firewall configuration, threat prevention, and security best practices
- Hands-on experience with FortiGate Firewalls for secure connectivity and traffic management
- Expertise in configuring and managing Cisco 9500 Core Switches for high-performance enterprise networks
- Excellent understanding with ITIL processes, particularly incident and problem management
- Excellent understanding with routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), VLANs, QoS, VPNs, and network security best practices
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Guide and mentor junior engineers, sharing expertise in advanced troubleshooting techniques and best practices
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on networking technologies
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in network design, implementation, and support
