Responsibilities
- Serve as a senior technical owner for the organization's Microsoft 365 environment, ensuring secure, reliable, well-governed, and highly available services across Microsoft 365 platforms.
- Administer and manage core Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Defender, and Microsoft Purview.
- Manage Microsoft 365 tenant configuration, service health, licensing, administrative roles, governance, change management, and service lifecycle activities.
- Administer users, groups, security roles, licenses, mailboxes, distribution lists, shared mailboxes, Teams, SharePoint sites, and OneDrive services.
- Provide senior-level troubleshooting and resolution of complex Microsoft 365 issues, including email and mail flow, authentication, permissions, Teams, collaboration, file access, OneDrive synchronization, compliance, and endpoint-related issues.
- Configure and maintain Exchange Online, including mail flow, transport rules, connectors, mailbox permissions, shared mailboxes, retention policies, email security controls, and hybrid Exchange environments where applicable.
- Configure and manage Microsoft Teams, including policies, meeting configurations, calling and voice features, application permissions, collaboration settings, and lifecycle management.
- Manage SharePoint Online and OneDrive, including permissions, sharing policies, site configuration, synchronization issues, data governance, and user adoption.
- Implement and support Microsoft security and compliance capabilities, including Conditional Access, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), audit logging, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Purview, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), retention, eDiscovery, and sensitivity controls.
- Deploy and manage endpoints through Microsoft Intune and other endpoint management platforms, including compliance policies, configuration profiles, application deployment, application protection, device management, and Windows Autopilot.
- Support Windows, macOS, and Linux environments, including operating system configuration, application issues, patching, endpoint stability, and performance troubleshooting.
- Administer and troubleshoot Active Directory and hybrid identity environments, including Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Entra Connect/AD Connect, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, Organizational Units (OUs), domain services, trusts, and directory replication.
- Provide support for infrastructure technologies including VMware/vSphere, Windows and Linux servers, storage environments, SAN/NAS, iSCSI, Fibre Channel, networking, and cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS.
- Provide support and administration for collaboration and business applications, including Confluence and Jira.
- Provide senior-level technical support to onsite and remote users across global locations, taking ownership of incidents, service requests, escalations, and complex technical issues through to resolution.
- Support meeting room and collaboration technologies, including Logitech Tap, Poly Studio, and associated audio-visual systems.
- Develop and maintain automation solutions using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, Bash, and Power Automate to streamline administration, reporting, provisioning, deprovisioning, monitoring, and recurring support activities.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, runbooks, and knowledge base articles to improve support efficiency and enable L1/L2 teams to resolve recurring issues effectively.
- Work within established incident, problem, change, and configuration management processes to ensure technical changes are appropriately assessed, documented, approved, communicated, and implemented.
- Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, security, user experience, automation, licensing efficiency, and operational effectiveness.
- Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, infrastructure, application, finance, and business teams to support day-to-day operations, technical projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to IT team members and contribute to the development of internal technical capabilities.
Skills and Abilities Required
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in Microsoft 365 administration, systems engineering, systems administration, enterprise IT support, or a similar technical role.
- Strong hands-on experience administering and supporting Microsoft 365 environments.
- Strong practical knowledge of Exchange Online, including mail flow, transport rules, connectors, mailbox permissions, shared mailboxes, email security, and troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory, including identity and access management, user and group administration, authentication, MFA, Conditional Access, SSO, Group Policy, and hybrid identity environments.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune, including device management, configuration profiles, compliance policies, application deployment, endpoint security, and Windows Autopilot.
- Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills, with the ability to create scripts for administration, troubleshooting, reporting, bulk operations, and routine task automation.
- Excellent technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently investigate and resolve complex issues across Microsoft 365, endpoints, identity, applications, and infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 security, access control, governance, and administrative best practices.
- Ability to work effectively in an enterprise environment supporting both onsite and remote users.
- Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to explain technical issues and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
