Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Structural Wood Engineer with expertise in timber construction to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for both residential projects and commercial projects, strong background in wood construction engineering, with expertise in designing, analyzing, and optimizing structural wood components. Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit is required to develop detailed plans and ensure structural integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, analyze, and optimize structural wood components for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
  • Develop detailed drawings, layouts, and 3D models using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Prepare detailed engineering calculations and specifications.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Review project specifications, plans, and materials to ensure adherence to industry standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and recommendations on wood construction methods and materials.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and advancements in wood engineering technology.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering (Structural, Civil, or Wood Construction Engineering) or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in structural engineering.
  • Proven experience in structural wood engineering, preferably in construction or manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for designing and drafting.
  • Strong knowledge of wood materials, construction techniques, and building codes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

System Requirements:

  • Computer: Minimum Intel i5 processor, 8GB RAM, Windows 10 or higher.
  • Monitors: Two monitors for desktops OR an external monitor for laptops (recommended for backup management).
  • Internet: Stable wired connection with at least 100 Mbps speed (higher preferred for WiFi).
  • Backup Internet: A secondary internet source capable of handling full workload OR access to a backup location nearby.
  • Power Backup: Uninterrupted power supply for at least 8 hours OR a backup location accessible within 30 minutes.
  • Work Environment: Dedicated, quiet workspace conducive to professional communication.
  • Headset: Noise-canceling headset for clear audio during calls.
