Our client is a well-established organization in the construction industry seeking an experienced professional to lead procurement and purchasing operations.

Job Overview

The Purchasing Manager will manage procurement activities, supplier relationships, purchasing costs, and timely delivery of materials for construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for construction projects.
  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers.
  • Obtain competitive quotations and ensure cost-effective purchasing.
  • Manage procurement schedules and ensure timely delivery to project sites.
  • Monitor inventory levels and prevent material shortages.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier and stakeholder relationships.
  • Conduct market research and identify new suppliers and opportunities.
  • Monitor supplier performance, quality, and delivery schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and industry standards.
  • Prepare procurement reports, cost analyses, and budget forecasts.
  • Coordinate with Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers, Site Engineers, and Finance teams.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or professional qualification in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement/purchasing, including at least 1 year in a managerial role within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, suppliers, subcontracting, and procurement processes.
  • Experience handling large-scale construction projects will be an added advantage.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and supplier management skills.
