Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to manage financial records, prepare reports, oversee reconciliations, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. The role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial information and supporting effective financial management across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and manage day-to-day banking transactions.
  • Handle correspondence with banks and other financial institutions.
  • Liaise with external auditors and ensure timely completion of audits.
  • Assist in import costing and stock valuation processes.
  • Assist in financial auditing processes and liaise with external auditors.
  • Maintain and update financial records using ERP systems or accounting software.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in import, Storage, Sales & Marketing & After Sales Service sectors.
  • Strong expertise in import costing and inventory valuation is essential
    Proven experience in preparing and presenting Management Information Reports (MIRS).
  • At least 2 years of experience in an audit firm is essential.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with ERP/accounting packages.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Sinhala; Tamil proficiency is an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
