Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to manage financial records, prepare reports, oversee reconciliations, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. The role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial information and supporting effective financial management across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts.
- Perform bank reconciliations and manage day-to-day banking transactions.
- Handle correspondence with banks and other financial institutions.
- Liaise with external auditors and ensure timely completion of audits.
- Assist in import costing and stock valuation processes.
- Assist in financial auditing processes and liaise with external auditors.
- Maintain and update financial records using ERP systems or accounting software.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in import, Storage, Sales & Marketing & After Sales Service sectors.
- Strong expertise in import costing and inventory valuation is essential
Proven experience in preparing and presenting Management Information Reports (MIRS). - At least 2 years of experience in an audit firm is essential.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with ERP/accounting packages.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Sinhala; Tamil proficiency is an added advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail.
