About the Role: 

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Manager/Manager Human Resources & Compliance to lead the HR function while ensuring adherence to labor laws, regulatory requirements, and internal governance standards. The ideal candidate will play a strategic role in workforce planning, Learning & Development (L&D), and organisational compliance, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic HR Leadership

  • Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the company's vision and business goals.
  • Partner with leadership on organisational development, workforce planning, and talent management.
  • Provide expert counsel on people-related matters, culture-building, and change management.

Learning & Development (Core Focus)

  • Lead the design and rollout of learning initiatives to enhance skills, productivity, and career growth.
  • Establish leadership development programs and technical training for operational teams.
  • Track training outcomes and drive a continuous learning culture across the organisation.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure full compliance with local labor laws, health and safety regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Maintain accurate HR records, contracts, and compliance documentation.
  • Conduct periodic audits and internal assessments to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
  • Lead policy development and enforcement aligned with legal and company standards.

Operational HR Management

  • Oversee talent acquisition, onboarding, performance appraisals, and employee relations.
  • Supervise payroll coordination, benefits administration, and HR systems management.
  • Manage disciplinary procedures, grievance handling, and conflict resolution.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 8+ years of HR experience, including 3+ years in a senior leadership role with exposure to compliance.
  • In-depth knowledge of Sri Lankan labor law and HR best practices.
  • Proven experience in implementing L&D strategies across diverse teams.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Industry experience in manufacturing or industrial sectors is preferred.
