Role Overview
The Finance Manager will play a critical role in managing the financial health of our clients organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, cost management, and compliance with local regulations. This position requires a detail-oriented finance professional with a CIMA or equivalent qualification and experience in financial management within the logistics or a related industry. The ideal candidate will oversee financial planning, manage budgets, and provide strategic insights to support the company's growth trajectory.

Qualifications

  • CIMA qualification or equivalent (such as ACCA or CFA) is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years in finance management, with a strong background
    in logistics, transportation, or a similar industry.
  • Proficient in financial modelling, budgeting, and analysis with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Deep understanding of financial management within the
    logistics or supply chain sector, with knowledge of regulatory requirements in Sri Lanka.
  • Familiarity with financial software and ERP systems; proficiency in
    Excel and financial reporting tools is required.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English;
    knowledge of local languages is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Planning and Analysis

  • Develop and manage the annual budgeting process, providing forecasts and financial projections in alignment with business objectives.
  • Analyze financial performance, preparing regular reports and insights on key financial metrics and recommending adjustments as needed.
  • Perform cost-benefit analysis for major initiatives, ensuring alignment with the company's financial and operational goals.

2. Financial Reporting and Compliance

  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial
    statements in compliance with local regulations and accounting standards.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, monitoring accounts, and maintaining records in line with statutory requirements.
  • Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure full compliance with financial and tax regulations.

3. Cash Flow and Capital Management

  • Monitor cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs and capital investments, optimizing working capital and managing debt
    obligations.
  • Develop cash management strategies to support business growth while
    minimizing financial risk.
  • Ensure efficient utilization of financial resources and manage the company's funding and financing options as required.

4. Cost Control and Expense Management

  • Implement cost management strategies to reduce expenses, optimize
    resource allocation, and enhance profitability.
  • Monitor and analyze operational costs related to logistics, delivery, and
    sustainability initiatives, providing insights for cost-saving measures.

5. Strategic Financial Planning

  • Provide financial insights and guidance on strategic decisions, including
    market expansion, new service lines, and potential investments.
  • Collaborate with business development, operations, and other teams to evaluate financial impacts of business initiatives and support long-term planning.

6. Risk Management and Internal Controls

  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls, ensuring processes are in place to safeguard assets and prevent financial discrepancies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for identified financial and operational risks.

7. Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead and mentor finance team members, fostering a collaborative and high performance work environment.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for team members, ensuring ongoing improvement of financial management capabilities.
