Assistant Accountant

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in Import and Trading, and at least 2 years in an Audit firm.
• Familiarity with import costing and stock valuation is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of bank reconciliation and financial correspondence.
• Proficiency in ERP systems, accounting packages, and MS Excel.
• Fluency in English and Sinhala; fluency in Tamil is an added advantage.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.
• Preferably living in close proximity to Colombo.
• Age below 35 years.

Requirements:

• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial statements.
• Perform import costing and stock valuation to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Conduct bank reconciliations and manage correspondence with banks and financial institutions.
• Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable.
• Collaborate with auditors to ensure smooth audit processes.
• Utilize ERP systems and accounting software for efficient financial management.
• Generate financial reports and forecasts to assist in strategic decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and maintain up-to-date records.
• Provide support for budgeting and financial planning activities.
