Qualifications:

  • A degree in Law or a professional qualification in Labour Law with at least 3 years of experience in a similar capacity (preferably in a manufacturing setup).
  • A degree or professional qualification in HR is an added advantage.
  • Excellent understanding of negotiation techniques.
  • Thorough knowledge of dispute resolution and compensation administration.
  • Ability to remain tactful, calm, and persuasive in controversial and/or confrontational situations.
  • Active listening skills and the ability to understand people's background and motives.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle stress and pressure.

Responsibilities:

  • Investigating and resolving complex or critical industrial relations issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Collaborating with leadership on matters of policy and terms of memoranda of understanding before and throughout the negotiation process.
  • Collaborating with legal counsel and departments in the preparation for and participation in negotiation with employee and labor groups.
  • Formulating and reviewing HR policies and other relevant policies as per regulations prescribed by governing bodies and industry best practices.
  • Maintaining employee behavior and discipline to managements expected level by conducting staff awareness sessions on HR policies.
  • Executing disciplinary procedures by conducting preliminary investigations, issuing show cause letters, and proceeding with any corrective actions.
  • Maintaining good employee relations by counseling and grievance handling of employees.
  • Writing investigation reports of any accidents or incidents, ensuring compliance and coordination of Workers' Compensation Insurance and claims.
