Job Description 

  • To lead, monitor and supervise a manufacturing team to meet production plan. In order to produce a quality product with a proper production system, quality standard and high productivity/efficiency.
  • Establish and maintain a competitive production department and continuously improve processes and employees to achieve operational excellence in all areas of production
  • Maximize productivity and optimize utilization rates
  • Co-ordinates with all departments in the company to ensure smooth production flow.
  • Assists and troubleshoots manufacturing processes, calculates and sets standard time and production costing of existing and new products.
  • Assists and troubleshoots existing processes and proposes methods such as automation or improved equipment and production tooling to achieve higher work efficiency and product quality.
  • Conceives layouts for new product lines as required. Maintain and organise the plant facilities, production equipment and plant utilities so as to minimize downtime of any of those.
  • Organise resources and material transferred from store to achieve production output as per customer requirement.
  • Produce work according to company SOPs and WIs, to minimize quality problems ( in house and at customer)
  • Ensure all production team is properly trained to execute the assigned jobs
  • Continuous improvement of subordinates to achieve optimal performance by using MbO coaching, training,..)
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and skill enhancement
  • Involvement in problem solving.
  • As part of the EEM MT, contribute to the company targets.
  • Monitor and control the inventory of Work-In-Progress.
  • Establish, operate and improving effective internal control systems to enhance productivity & quality.
  • Identify technology and capex requirements in line with future production plans
  • Minimize waste ( scrap, cost of non quality/conformance) and maintain 5S in all production areas
  • Liaise with relevant authorities, such as Fire Brigade, TNB, etc. to meet the government regulations
  • Delivery of world class services ( targeted quality, on time shipment, competitive cost)
  • Leading a team of Section Heads who are responsible for their respective Section
  • Lead the companies LEAN initiative
  • Contribute to strategic & operational management as a member of the management team
  • Manages department budget and controls expense.

Job Requirements 

  • EEM/EMM: Degree/Diploma, preferable in Manufacturing/Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • ECH: Graduate form technical FH/University preferable in electronics
  • Minimum 10 years similar working experience in an EMS environment, with at least 3 years at managerial level
  • Result oriented and willing to work under pressure and tight schedule
  • Experience in PCBA, SMT and preferably injection moulding.
  • Excellent track record with proven achievements in current and past jobs.
  • Familiar with ERP system such as BaaN/SAP/Mapics.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and strong negotiation skills.
  • Strong leadership qualities, resourcefulness and demonstrated high level of initiative, hands-on.
  • Ability to work at fast pace and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience in project, process management, development and change management.
