Job Description 

  • Planning and Scheduling:

    • Develop and manage project timelines, ensuring that all materials, equipment, and services are ordered and delivered as per project requirements.
    • Coordinate with project managers to identify resource needs and ensure optimal scheduling of procurement activities.
    • Monitor project progress and adjust procurement plans accordingly to meet changing project timelines or requirements.
    • Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate prices, and ensure the purchase of high-quality materials and services at competitive prices.
    • Place orders, track deliveries, and ensure that materials and equipment are delivered on time and within budget.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards during the procurement process.
    • Generate regular reports on inventory levels, order statuses, and supplier performance. 
    • Provide insights to management regarding purchasing and inventory trends.
    • Continuously review and improve purchasing and planning processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
    • Leverage ERP systems and other tools to improve planning accuracy, order management, and inventory control.
    • Ensure all purchasing and planning activities comply with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
    • Maintain accurate documentation of purchase orders, contracts, inventory, and planning data.
    • Identify and mitigate risks related to supplier performance and potential disruptions in the supply chain.
    • Develop contingency plans to address any material shortages or delivery delays that may impact production schedules.
    • Follow up closely with buyers to ensure materials are available to support production as per plan.
    • Monitor supply and demand misalignment using the ERP system and collaborate with the buyer/purchaser to adjust material pull plans (pull in/push out).
    • Monitor and coordinate material shortages, expediting and ensuring material availability to support the production plan.
    • Resolve any AOS issues and ensure shop orders are executed according to plan.

  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Act as a liaison between internal teams, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure effective communication and coordination.
    • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and make informed purchasing decisions.

    Job Requirements:

    • A degree or diploma in engineering, procurement, supply chain management, or a related field.
    • Proven experience in planning, purchasing, and inventory management within a similar industry.
    • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build relationships with suppliers.
    • Knowledge of procurement software and project management tools.
    • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Good knowledge in ERP system e.g. SAP, IFS, etc.
    • Good knowledge in inventory management.
    • Experience in material planning & purchase for mass production/ project buy.
    • Experience in supporting prototype materials purchase in NPI phase.
    • Experience and knowledge in ISO9001 quality system, ISO13485.
    • Demonstrate leadership in ISO audits for purchasing function.
    • A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills; having the ability
      to multitask.
    • Ability to drive material planning & purchasing activities for complex programs.
    • Ability to mentor & train the team - Leadership.
    • Ability to take a proactive approach to overcome challenges and achieve results, risk assessment.

    • Experience with problem analysis and resolution.
    • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
