Inside Salesperson LVL 2

Mifflinburg Lumber & Building Supply is seeking an Inside Sales Representative to help contractors and homeowners plan projects, select building materials, prepare estimates, and coordinate accurate orders.

This opening is classified internally as an Inside Salesperson Level 2. We are looking for someone who combines practical construction or building-material knowledge with confidence using computers and digital resources. Previous inside-sales experience is welcome but is not required. We are willing to invest in the right person and provide the training needed to succeed.

What You'll Do

• Assist contractors and homeowners with building-material and hardware needs
• Prepare material lists from drawings and construction plans
• Provide timely pricing, estimates, and proposals
• Enter and review customer orders with a strong focus on accuracy
• Place purchase orders for special-order products
• Use vendor websites, digital product resources, email, and company software throughout the workday
• Verify order details and confirmations
• Monitor open orders and communicate updates to customers
• Assist customers with project budgeting, building stages, and product selection
• Support outside sales representatives as directed
• Promote new products, special pricing, and MLBS services
• Help develop new customer relationships
• Manage returned products and help resolve customer concerns

What We're Looking For

• Practical knowledge of construction, building materials, or hardware
• Previous experience using computers regularly at work or in another practical setting
• Comfort navigating websites, digital resources, email, and business systems
• Strong attention to detail, particularly when entering and reviewing orders
• Excellent customer-service and communication skills
• Good mathematical, organizational, problem-solving, and time-management abilities
• A dependable, professional approach and willingness to learn

Experience with material takeoffs, estimating, lumber, building supplies, hardware, or contractor sales is helpful but not required.

Position Details

• Full-time salaried position
• Base salary plus commission
• Training and opportunities for advancement

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
• Ability to stand, sit, or kneel for extended periods
• Ability to safely navigate a typical construction site
