About the job Senior Associate - Reporting & Taxation
Requirements:
Qualification: CA finalist / CBA.
Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience. Candidate should have knowledge of IFRS (IAS 12 & IAS 2). Experience in income tax and deferred tax accounting. Exposure to statutory audits and external auditor coordination. Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/Dynamics). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards and Company policies, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
2. Support the monthly and year-end financial close process by preparing journal entries, reconciliations, schedules and analyses to facilitate smooth and timely closure.
3. Prepare periodic financial reports, variance analyses and management information (MIS) to support business performance monitoring and decision-making.
4. Perform detailed analysis of Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet accounts, investigate significant variances and prepare supporting schedules for management review.
5. Prepare inventory analyses, coordinate with Operations and Supply Chain teams to identify slow-moving and obsolete inventory and maintain adequate supporting documentation for provisions.
6. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts and financial projections by compiling financial data and supporting management in the budgeting process.
7. Coordinate with external auditors during interim and annual statutory audits by preparing audit schedules, providing supporting documentation and ensuring timely resolution of audit queries.
8. Coordinate with the Company's tax advisors and relevant internal stakeholders for tax compliance matters, including preparation of tax schedules and supporting documentation.
9. Prepare current tax and deferred tax computations and related disclosures in accordance with the applicable Income Tax Ordinance and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), ensuring completeness and accuracy of tax provisions in the financial statements.
10. Assist in the implementation and adherence to financial policies, internal controls, delegated authority limits and risk management procedures, while identifying opportunities for process improvements.
11. Prepare financial information and supporting schedules for quarterly Board reports and other management presentations as required.
12. Ensure proper maintenance of accounting records, reconciliations and supporting documentation to facilitate audits, regulatory compliance and management reporting.
13. Ensure compliance with Company policies, applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, and support adherence to the Midas Safety Management (MSM) System and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) responsibilities.
