Primary Purpose:
To grow Supagas’ market share in a range of products including Hospitality, Industrial and LPG by converting sales leads and generating new business through cold calling and existing customers by using tactics that ensure a great customer experience.
Job Description
Role and Responsibilities
• Embody the ‘Yes We Can’ ethos in all aspects of the role and responsibilities.
• Generate new business and manage incoming leads to ensure the growth of Supagas.
• To maintain and foster relationships with existing customers, both local and national.
• Adhere to and implement all Supagas procedure and policies.
• Grow the sales of Hospitality, Heaters, Industrial and LPG markets.
• Maintain and defend Supagas’ current customers from competitors with the upmost urgency.
• Being pro-active in recognising current and prospective customer needs.
• Support branch staff and sales team as required to obtain larger LPG, hospitality, and industrial customers.
• Maintain market awareness at all times and to represent Supagas in a positive and professional manner, recognising the key role you have as primary contact between the customers and Supagas
• Work in a team environment and work together to maximise the productivity of the team.
Safety, Compliance and Training
• Embody the Supagas Safety Vision “Think SAFE, Work SAFE, Live SAFE” and Safety Expectations within all facets of the site and role
• Ensure a safe workplace for all staff, visitors and customers reporting all risks / hazards / incidents / near misses and accidents
• Actively participate and facilitate safety risk assessments including Ready for Start-up Review (RFSR), HAZOP, MOC, HAZID and Design reviews
• Participate in the Emergency Response Plan (ERP) and help facilitate activities that are planned for the site
• Understand the Supagas Critical Risks, the Controls and Enablers as per the Critical Risk Handbook and how they pertain to your role
• Ensure all staff, visitors and contractors operate within Supagas safety rules including Permit To Work (PTW) requirements
• Ensure safety is at the forefront of all tasks and activities.
• Maintain safety, tidiness and housekeeping throughout all offices and vehicles.
• Completion of all training by the required deadlines
• Constantly improving knowledge of all gases and products
Sales Tasks
• Achieve company and branch sales targets.
• Achieve internal sales KPI’s.
• Manage multiple sales inboxes, managing leads/queries on a local level and delegating enquiries nationally.
• Manage the Capricorn non trading list contacting potential new customers.
• Prepare and provide proposals to new and existing customers.
• Track sales metrics on a weekly quarterly and monthly basis.
• Proactively develop new business opportunities through research and cold calling via daily phone calls and email, adhering to cold calling KPI’s and standards.
• Research for potential leads from business directories or digital resources.
• Contact prospective customers immediately and as requested.
• Follow up all prospective customers as agreed by you with the customer.
• Support the external sales team and management.
• Ensure all information given on application forms and Gas Supply Agreements (GSA) are correct and completed. All paperwork must be handed in within 48 hours.
• Liaise with the Accounts Department regarding money owing, stop supply and all general account issues.
• Maintain and update accurate notes in CRM system as well as records according to necessity and instructions.
• Complete detailed monthly sales and activity reports. This includes new customers, prospective customers, cold calling and lead activity, competitor activity and future activity.
• Promoting the benefits of Supagas & Supagas products.
• Ensure customers experience a smooth transition when signing with Supagas.
• Other tasks as required from time to time..
